Whitenair Clean rooms are specialized environments designed to maintain
extremely low levels of airborne particles, such as dust, microbes, and
chemical vapors. They are used in various industries, including
pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, electronics, aerospace, and medical device
manufacturing, where even a small contamination can have significant
consequences. The primary purpose of a clean room is
to create a controlled environment that minimizes the introduction, generation,
and retention of particles. This is achieved through strict protocols,
specialized equipment, and advanced filtration systems. Clean rooms are
typically constructed with airtight walls, ceilings, and floors to prevent the
entry of external contaminants. Clean rooms are classified based on the
maximum allowable particle concentration within a given size range. The
classification systems commonly used are ISO (International Organization for
Standardization) and US Federal Standard 209E. The ISO classification system
assigns a number to denote the level of cleanliness, such as ISO 1, ISO 2, ISO
3, and so on, with ISO 1 being the cleanest. The US Federal Standard 209E has
similar classifications, but it uses different terminology. To maintain cleanliness, clean rooms
employ various measures. Some of the key features include: 1.
Air filtration: Clean rooms have
high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters or ultra-low particulate air
(ULPA) filters that remove particles from the incoming air. These filters can
trap particles as small as 0.3 micrometers. 2.
Airflow control: Clean rooms have a
controlled airflow pattern to minimize particle movement and prevent the
accumulation of contaminants. Typically, they have a unidirectional or laminar
airflow that ensures a constant flow of filtered air from a clean area to a
less clean area. 3.
Personal protective equipment (PPE):
Clean room personnel must wear specialized clean room garments, including
coveralls, hoods, gloves, masks, and shoe covers, to prevent the introduction
of particles from their bodies. 4.
Cleaning and disinfection: Regular
cleaning and disinfection protocols are followed to minimize the presence of
contaminants. Specialized cleaning agents and procedures are used to maintain
the cleanliness of surfaces, equipment, and tools. 5.
Monitoring and control: Clean rooms
have robust monitoring systems to continuously measure and control factors such
as temperature, humidity, air pressure differentials, and particle levels.
Regular testing and validation are conducted to ensure compliance with the
desired cleanliness standards. Clean rooms play a vital role in
industries where precision, reliability, and product quality are crucial. They
provide a controlled environment for manufacturing processes, research and
development, and sensitive activities, reducing the risk of product failures,
contamination, and compromised results. System Overview Fully Integrated, Pre-Tested Turnkey

many benefits of a modular clean room and biological safety cabinet, including
a filtration system that maintains cleanliness levels from to Class 10 (ISO 4). Unlike conventional clean rooms, it features a
versatile air handling system that lets you configure the working space for
your requirements. Neutral Pressure Room:
100% Air Recirculation Configured
as a neutral pressure room, this system ensures 100% re-circulation of
exhausted air and complete protection of the external environment. An outlet filter/blower module recessed in the
wall at the rear of the processing area draws air away from the operator into
dual HEPA outlet filters, which contain any airborne chemical powder. These
filters can be discarded or processed for chemical reclamation. Outlet air then passes through a make-up air
duct and back into the ceiling filter/fan unit mounted on the ceiling. Filtered
air flows downward from above the work area at a speed of about 90 feet/minute,
in accord with clean room standards. Positive Pressure
Room: Filter/Fan Units This
additional protection optimizes product purity by controlling airborne
aerosols, microbes, and other submicron particles. Ceiling filter/fan units (FFUs) creates a
positive pressure inside the room that blocks the inrush of containments. FFUs
can be positioned at the access area to form a contamination barrier, or
uniformly throughout the ceiling grid to create laminar airflow. Neutral Pressure Room:
Exhaust Ventilation For
additional protection of personnel inside the room, the Clean Zone
Re-circulation System lets you adjust the percentage of air re-circulated into
the containment room. By exhausting a portion of the air drawn into
the filtration system, you create a negative pressure that pulls air away from
the operator. A Flanged adapter panel, either with or without adjustable
damper, lets you duct exhausted air to an in-house ventilation system.
Whitenair’s Air Handling Modules include a high-volume fan and filter for
ductless ventilation. Whitenair Compounding Cleanroom USP

to meet the requirements of USP-797, they include the HEPA filter/fan units
that provide a total of 1950 CFM of 99.99% particle-free air (measured at 0.3µm
diameter), far exceeding the ISO 8 condition stipulated by USP-797 for compounding
clean rooms. In fact, the primary processing area meets ISO 5 (Class 100)
cleanliness standards. Select
between 1800W x 2400L and 1800W x 3000L floor plans. Both rooms include a
sliding clean vinyl curtain that creates a separate antechamber for personnel
growning or product staging. In the typical configuration, the primary compounding
room accommodates a 1.8m– long workbench, which provides ample space for a
laminar flow hood, as stipulated by ISO-797 requirements. Softwall or Hardwall Designs Whitenair’s
softwall clean room features flexible cleanroom vinyl curtains that hang from a
quick-install GripTrack™ along the outside perimeter. Curtains come in 1220-wide
lengths and hang to about 75mm above floor level. A 1220-wide strip shield
